State Police: Drivers ID’d after Sunday strip ‘pile up’

Routes 11 15 MVA Sunday afternoon slowed southbound traffic for several hours and resulted in one injury.

MONROE TWP – State troopers are out with details of a wreck we told you about that occurred Sunday were one car ended up on top of another. Selinsgrove state police say a Selinsgrove woman was taken to the hospital Sunday after the accident on Routes 11/15 just after 3 p.m.

Troopers say 70-year-old Barbara Hoffman was traveling south on Routes 11/15 when she rear-ended another vehicle already stopped in the travel lane. The impact caused the vehicle in front of Hoffman to push into another vehicle. Because of the impact, the vehicle Hoffman plowed into was lifted into the air and came to rest on top of her vehicle. Hoffman sustained minor injuries and was taken to UPMC Susquehanna Sunbury. A medical update is unavailable at the hospital this time.

No other injuries were reported. The right lane of Routes 11-15 south was closed for about an hour as crews cleared the scene. Hummels Wharf and Sunbury EMS assisted Selinsgrove troopers at the scene.
