SNYDER COUNTY – One person was injured after a two-vehicle crash on Route 35 in Perry Township, Snyder County. Selinsgrove state police say the accident occurred Thursday just before 4 p.m. Police say 31-year-old Tony Swartz of Richfield was traveling east on Route 35 but failed to stay in his lane of travel. Swartz crossed the double yellow lines and went into the westbound direction of traffic. That’s when he struck 54-year-old Nelson Gingerich of Richfield, causing Gingerich to lose control of his vehicle. Gingerich spun out and struck a mailbox and utility pole.
Both vehicles suffered disabling damage. Gingerich was taken to Evangelical Community Hospital. Swartz refused EMS treatment at the scene. (Matt Catrillo)
