SELISNGROVE — Nobody does more for veterans than the VFW, so says Harold Aucker, Quartermaster at the Selinsgrove VFW. Why not support the VFW with their fundraising concert this weekend, Aucker says the musical act is, “Re-Creation is a group of young people based out of Port Trevorton and they travel nationwide sometimes worldwide entertaining veterans.”
He says Re-Creation plays a variety of music form rock ‘n roll to country as well as retro hits from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. The concert will be Saturday, May 26 at the Selinsgrove VFW on Route 522 from 7:30pm to 8:30 pm.
Aucker says the proceeds of the concert will benefit the VFW National Home for Children, “Our profits will go to the VFW National Home in Eaton Rapids Michigan. A family can move their when a father is on deployment and when he comes home if he has suffered from PTSD of has suffered or any type of injury where he needs rehab, he can stay there up to two years until he gets re-acclimated into civilian life.”
Aucker says the concert is meant to be a family event so they will not be serving alcohol or food. Doors open at 6:30pm Saturday and the cost per ticket is $20. Visit vfwpost6631.org for more details. (Sarah Benek)
