PennDOT, safety partner honor police for aggressive-driving enforcement

BLOOMSBURG – PennDOT says one of their main priorities last year was cracking down on aggressive driving, and now they are thanking local police for the additional enforcement.

PennDOT and the North Central Highway Safety Network met in Bloomsburg Monday to honor local police officers for their outstanding participation in PennDOT’s Aggressive Driving Enforcement and Education Project.

Among the many officers honored was Kelly Campbell of the Mount Carmel Township Police. Several Columbia County officers were recognized as well.  The aggressive-driving campaign focused on catching red light violators, the Steer Clear law, tailgating and speeding. Municipal police agencies that participated wrote nearly 42,000 citations.
