SHAMOKIN – The victim of a Mount Carmel Township murder was laid to rest Monday…now his sister has been arrested. Mount Carmel police Monday arrested a sister of Sean Maschal on drug charges. She’s identified as 24-year-old Taylor Glassic of Marion Heights.
The Daily Item reports Glassic was previously identified in a search warrant as a person of interest in her brother’s death. Now she’s accused of possessing packaging associated with narcotics along with a used glass smoking pipe, according to arrest papers.
Glassic also violated her parole by being at an unapproved address. She was arraigned by District Judge John Gembic and jailed at Mifflin County Prison on $35,000 cash bail. Glassic is now the fourth person in custody whose names were published in a search warrant last week in Ashland. The others are David Swatsky of Mt. Carmel, Jamie McCabe who is in a state prison, and David Brown of Mt. Carmel. No one has been charged with the killing.
The 33-year-old Maschal was found dead Wednesday off Route 901 in a wooded section of Mount Carmel Township, east of Locust Gap. He died of a single gunshot wound to the head and his death was ruled a homicide Thursday. (Matt Catrillo)
