Lewisburg man arrested for raping woman near state park

MIFFLINBURG – A Lewisburg man is jailed, accused of violently and repeatedly raping a woman. The Daily Item reports the incident occurred in the woods near R.B. Winter State park after giving the woman a ride to track down a mutual friend. According to the paper, police  say 31-year-old Jeffrey Camp Jr. of Lewisburg allegedly forcefully raped the woman at four different points as they traveled in his vehicle during the course of several hours starting around 6 p.m. May 3. It was in the area of Cooper Miller Road in Lewis Township, Union County.

 

The paper says Camp confessed to police of the rape and detailed one of the incidents, according to arrest papers. The woman  told troopers she was shaking and scared throughout, citing it as the reason for not reporting the incident sooner.

 

Camp Jr. is charged with four counts each of rape, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, all felonies. He’s also charged with four counts each of misdemeanor terroristic threats and indecent assault and summary harassment. Camp Jr. is jailed on $100,000 cash bail. A preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Jeffrey Mensch is set for 11 a.m. June 26.
