Its men’s health month: Some healthy tips for men

SUNBURY – Men…know your numbers. That’s part of the advice this month, Men’s Health Month.  How to improve men’s health? We have tips for men from Registered Dieticians at Weis Markets.

 

Kathryn Long, one of the dieticians, says making regular doctors visits and being aware of other aspects of your health are the most important, “Knowing your numbers is so important to get the overall picture of your health. We can’t see what’s going on inside our bodies, so we need to go to the doctor, get that blood work taken, and get your blood pressure checked.”

 

When it comes to a healthy diet for men, a focus on eating plant-based foods is key. Erin Dunleavy is one of the other Weis Markets Dieticians, “There’s been a lot of research done showing the benefits of including more plant-based foods in your meals that can help decrease the certain risk of diseases and improve overall health…whole grains, fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, healthy fats, beans.”
