Foster homes for dogs?

SUNBURY – Being a foster parent usually means there are children involved, but at Haven to Home, it means something different. It’s a foster home program that finds temporary homes for dogs with the hope to match them up with families to adopt them.

Kristi Cirelli is the President and Intake Coordinator for Haven to Home, she told WKOK how a foster program for dogs works, “We match the dogs, cats, and kids ratio. The dogs going in the foster home is kind of nice rather than a shelter because we get to see how the dogs are with kids, with cats, and how they are with people, and we can match them to the perfect home.”

Angela Cooper, Vice President of Haven to Home, told WKOK that fundraising is a big part of keeping the dogs in the program healthy, and the next event is coming up May 26, called “Drag for Dogs.”

“We are going to try and have a few dogs out there dressed in drag, but there will also be people dressed in drag. Tequila Daniels will be the individual who will be hosting the show, he’s done this before, so we’re really excited.”

“Drag for Dogs” will be May 26 at Whispering Oaks Vineyard from 6pm to 10:30pm and will include the Tequila Daniels and the Ladies of Illusion and Glamour show, raffles, and the When Pigs Fly food truck, plus an appearance by 94KX’s Lura Good.
