Libraries Rock, 2018 Summer Reading Program Theme

Have a desire to kick start your stardom?   Want to perform?  Ever think about America’s Got Talent or American Idol?   The Degenstein Community Library is hosting a “You Rock” Talent Show on Friday, June 15 from 6:30pm – 8:30pm as the kick-off to our summer reading program.  There is no fee to perform or attend, but space is limited to 20 performers.  Of course, all acts must be appropriate for families.  Eligible performances include singing, playing an instrument, monologues, comedy skits, and novelty acts.  Performers must attend rehearsal on Thursday, June 14.

This year’s summer reading program theme is Libraries Rock.  The Degenstein Community Library has activities scheduled every day for 8 weeks.   Summer reading is essential to help keep young minds active over the summer months.   The Summer Reading Program is open to all ages from babies and toddlers to teens and young adults and even, adults can participate  – – all free of charge.

For more information on the summer reading program or the library, stop by 40 South 5th Street, Sunbury,  call 570.286.2641, or  visit our website:  www.degensteinlibrary.org.
