HARRISBURG – The state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources has given Danville a $290,000 Park Rehabilitation and Development grant. The funding will be provided through the department’s Community Conservation Partnerships Program.
The grant will be used to help develop Canal Park. Included in the plans for the new park are: pedestrian walkways, an amphitheater, a stormwater management system, installation of ADA access and other site-related improvements.
The park will be adjacent to the Danville Municipal Building, on a vacant lot in the 400 block of Mill Street. Canal Street will be closed at that location. The Community Conservation Partnerships program is funded through a variety of state and federal sources including the Keystone Park and Recreation Fund.
