Central Susquehanna Mediation Center to host Bing-O-Ween

SELINSGROVE — A valuable resource that many people in the Valley may not know about is the Central Susquehanna Mediation Center. Executive Director Susan Jordan, “We are a community conflict mediation center, we are available to anyone in the community regardless of their ability to pay. People who are having difficult conflict who need some help, we set up a private confidential mediation and we have thirty-five trained volunteers that provide that service to the community.”

The volunteer staff most often mediate people through custody battles and divorce. In addition to mediation services, the Center also provides an instructive workshop for separating parents called “Kid’s First.”

CSVMC’s funding comes from grants from the counties they serve, fees assessed by the courts, and private donations. You can help fund this non-profit by attending their Bing-O-Ween event coming up this weekend. Mark O’Brien CSVMC board member says, “Bing-O-Ween is going to take place at the Selinsgrove Moose Lodge and its twenty-five dollars admission which of course all the money raised goes to support the Central Susquehanna Valley Mediation Center.”

Bing-O-Ween is Sunday from 2 until 5 pm at the Selinsgrove Moose on Spruce Street.  There will themed prizes, cash prizes, and gift certificates. All proceeds benefit the mediation center. Find more information at WKOK.com. (Sarah Benek)
