UPDATE: Students back to class at Danville High School after threats

DANVILLE – Students at Danville High School are back to class after a bomb and safety threat forced their evacuation Wednesday morning. Danville Area School District Superintendent Dr. Jason Bendle says local law enforcement completed their search of the high school and deemed the building safe around 11 a.m. Wednesday.

The investigation continues. Dr. Bendle tells us a suspect is still being sought and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Dr. Bendle says every threat is taken seriously and student safety is first priority. Danville School District police, Danville borough police, and state police responded to the incident.

About 8:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, the district website announced threats were found on one of the bathroom walls of the high school. Dr. Bendle says all high school students were then evacuated safely to another building.
