SELINSGROVE – It was a broken pole that caused an outage leaving nearly 1,500 Selinsgrove residents without power Wednesday night. PPL tells WKOK the outage occurred just after 6 p.m. Wednesday when wind contributed to the broken pole.
PPL says the number of customers affected quickly reduced to 517 after crews rerouted power using SMART grid technology. By 8 p.m. only 146 customers remained in the dark. All power was restored shortly after 5 a.m. Thursday morning.
